Many people believe that once they have graduated from Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering, the only career option for graduates is to go to construction companies.
It is partly true that many graduates have been employed by first-class
construction companies and have made great successes. However, it is
not true that career paths for Architectural and Civil Engineering
graduates are limited to construction companies. In fact,
opportunities for our graduates are becoming wider in
recent years. Among them, typical prospective career
paths are as follows

  • Construction companies (National and oversea total construction companies, Specialized construction companies)
  • Architectural design companies
  • Civil design companies
  • Architectural engineering companies (Architectural structure, facility, environment related)
  • Supervision and building management specialized companies
  • Building-related specialized consulting companies
  • Building energy assessment agencies
  • State-owned enterprises and System Integration companies that conduct projects related to construction of Geographic Information Systems
  • Specialized companies in estimation and quotation
  • Specialized companies in real estate and development projects
  • Aarious types of financial institutions and law firms
  • Building-related public and private research institutes (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Korea Institute of Construction Technology, the National Survey Institute, Korea Ocean Research and Development Institute, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety, Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements, Korea Environment Institute, National Institute of Environmental Research, Railroad Research Institute, Korea Institute of Energy Research, and technology institutes of construction companies, etc.)
  • ublic servants as building and civil engineering technicians in central and local governments (Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Ministry of Security and Public Administration, the National Emergency Management Agency, Seoul Metropolitan Government, local governments etc.)
  • Education institutions including universities (professors, staff, researchers)
